i have to go save the world. again.

sorry about the buffy-ness in my title :)

show some love, and try to save the planet just a little.
a little goes a long way if we all do our part.
don't you want to continue seeing natural habitats like rainforests or even this:

it's unbelievable...
so here are ways you can try to save the world. today :)

  • reuse, reuse, reuse!
  • thrift shops to buy secondhand!
  • i just got hooked on seventh generation products. i'm sure they're not perfect, but they're a start! natural products all the way, baby...
  • recycle!
  • give stuff away! LML loves making fun of a take it for free sale my father had, but it's true. if no one's using it, and they're offering it for free...take it. give it a good home!
  • non toxic makeup! i would love to do more research on this...but if there is something you know that i don't...

tell me!!

save planet home :)

This morning!

Upon waking up this morning, I've discovered:

The only reason that puppy wanted to sit on my lap was to eat my yogurt

AND

That he chewed a new hole through his sleeve so that he's more comfortable.

THUS

the clothing line. He's already designing :)

MG

Morning? Already?!

I feel like yesterday never ended! Let's see...what happened yesterday?

*finally got out of the house
*went to target to buy the things we needed...also, cookies for my puppy
*thought about what i would be doing if I was at my old job, and realized I was much happier at Target, watching the screaming kids drive their parents crazy
*realized I miss my old job just a little- minus the screaming kids.
*purchased Cecelia Ahearns new novel
*dropped off Mr. Pups to the groomers. When he turned around to look at me as they carried him away, I could have cried. I could swear I heard him say, Bye Mama
*did the laundry
*paid the bills
*picked up Mr. Pups, who looked ever so fresh with his new 'do
*bought him back to my parents house so they could see his makeover (they loved it)
*spoke to the co-creative director of my business
*made a contact with a potential buyer
*made lists of what to do with product now that the samples are out the door
*wondered what the new samples will look like when they get back
*oh yeah, I ate a lean cuisine! lol
*waited for LML to get home, and realized I forgot to buy eggs
*started Cecelia Ahearn's new novel
*folded and put away said laundry
*washed the floors and the dishes
*dropped off magazines to the rehabilitation center my Grandma is at

Whew. I think that's it. Todays list is not any easier! I would love to get some baking and cooking done...but I feel like there will be no time. Sigh.

More soon,
MG

On a day like this...

I would love to:
* pack and get out of here
* to shake people until they wake up and figure out how to save themselves rather than to have someone save THEM
*have an assistant
*have a desk (!)
*stay home and sleep
*have a spa day, I have no idea what I'm saving it for
*have someone to clean the kitchen. Just the kitchen. or, a working dishwasher (!)
*have an office/art studio to store said desk and assistant...and also, so I can draw...

(puppy drawings by me)

Instead I have to:
*work on the samples
*pay for the business cards
*drop puppy off to groomers
*shop for neccesities (apparently, I have forgotten how to spell this morning...)
*do the laundry (3 loads- including fluffing & folding, putting away, etc)
*tweak the photography webpage with my friend, C
*continue on the lists
*still fix my agenda book
*pay the rest of the builds
*maybe buy stamps
*go through the storage units to see what i am donating/giving away
*see if I have Christmas cards...to start on those.
*organize photos online
*correspondence, correspondence
*copyright/trademark brand/label name

Any advice? Aside from a much needed happy-hour?

Love,
MG

Order, order!

So, remember the government agency I went to in order to find an answer to my harassment case? Nada. Too late. Which leads me on to these next thoughts: should I really be busting my ass to pursue that field? Should I continue pursuing my business, which will be mine and mine alone?

Ya, I like the latter one, too! In the meantime, yesterday my close relative bought my LML a cigar back from her vacation in the DR...and I am hoping its still in my bag AND not smushed to bits. Oh, she also returned with a roll of toilet paper for me from the hotel. Swell, I needed one to leave in the car anyway- just in case of road-trip emergencies. I can't tell you how many bathrooms along miles of road don't have toilet paper- you try feeling crisp and clean without it. I'm not gonna even try!

Right now I am here:

And I wish I was here:

Eating this:

And getting a tan:

PS- My photography website is almost done, which I will probably post a link to about next week. I am SOOOO excited!!

Much Love,

Change

Hold on tight, squirrel!! There goes October!

Today is the 2nd day of November. Every year, it seems like October goes by too fast, and November goes by too slow. Today, I have a deadine with the product I've created, which needs to be reviewed with the manufacturers this week. Starting a business? Definitely not not easy!! Aside from the obvious, which I've researched my eyes out over there is:
*never-ending to do lists
*to design the business cards
*to design the clothing tags
*design, design, design
*talk to suppliers
*research, research, research (which thankfully, I did a lot of this weekend while we went away)
*notes, notes, notes
*marketing
*more lists

It's not easy. It's very time consuming, without stating what I already have to do with everyday life. Needless to say, if I had a job right now while trying to pursue everything, I'd be pulling the little hairs out of my head!

I have countless friends who have very full schedules: one who is never home (that's the one who's house I had to clean over the summer- check out that post!) because of all these "appearances" she has to make. She doesn't really have to, but she does anyway because she believes her reputation will be all the better for it. I hope it is.

Another friend, whp has her hands full, yet still has time to pursue everything...I often wonder how the former would rather be out than sleep. I need sleep or I can't function- though I know I would get more done by not sleeping. But my health comes first...and that mentioned 'appearance' friend doesn't see it that way. Infuriating!

Anyone have any 'starting a business' tips??

Still on my first cup of (LARGE) Dunkin' Donuts coffee- I must bid thee farewell until later if I want to get everything done! Blogging and Bloggers keep me inspired & motivated!!

Anything else, Universe?

Gamine is a French word, the femenine form of gamin, originally meaning urchin, waif or playful, naughty child. The word was used in English from about the mid-19th century (for example, by Thackeray in 1840 in one of his Parisian sketches). In the 20th century, the word gamine came to be applied in its more modern sense of a slim, wide-eyed young woman who is, or perceived to be, mischievous, teasing or sexually appealing.

Moving on from said vocabulary lesson- I was just bored & I think that's the cutest definition ever...

I have so much to do it's not even funny, and I obviously can't stop harping about it. I so want to be under the covers for a good part of my day with LML and our doggie..pup sleeps between us like the cheese in a sandwich. It's a very cute picture that neither of us will ever get up and take...unless I do.

Today is another day filled with to-do lists if I want to get this business up and running. Good thing is, that I've put a serious dent in it- despite feelings of dizziness and nausea. Blech...

Hope you have a warm day!

Trying to...

(I wish I had one of those right now. 11:40 am be damned....)

Trying to launch your own business really sucks. I'm home, it's really cold and my fingers and toes are frozen. I am at my wits end...and collaboratively me and LML have a fabulous idea this weekend. Act on it now, he says.

Crap, I say.

It's so cold...I have completed my list of 1000 things to do for TODAY- HAHHAHAHA...today- and I am totally overwhelmed as you can tell.

Of course, never mind my writing, my photography, my job that i'm still fighting to get back. Something else. I guess when stuff happens, it happens all at once, right?

Well....at least, to me :)

So as I am going to attempt to stay warm at Barnes and Noble, I hope you all have a warm & toasty Monday...

and let me know...if you had a dog, would you like affordable and oh-so cute doggie apparel?

Much Love,
MG
