i have to go save the world. again.

sorry about the buffy-ness in my title :)

show some love, and try to save the planet just a little.
a little goes a long way if we all do our part.
don't you want to continue seeing natural habitats like rainforests or even this:

it's unbelievable...
so here are ways you can try to save the world. today :)

  • reuse, reuse, reuse!
  • thrift shops to buy secondhand!
  • i just got hooked on seventh generation products. i'm sure they're not perfect, but they're a start! natural products all the way, baby...
  • recycle!
  • give stuff away! LML loves making fun of a take it for free sale my father had, but it's true. if no one's using it, and they're offering it for free...take it. give it a good home!
  • non toxic makeup! i would love to do more research on this...but if there is something you know that i don't...

tell me!!

save planet home :)

  1. Seventh Generation is actually a very good company with very clean products. They have a great philosophy based off of The Great Law of the Iroquois : " In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations". This should be the great law of EVERY culture. NOT just the ones that have been demolished by the greed, imperialism and sense of "divine right" that the white man has imposed on these beautiful people.
    But I digress.

AS far as makeup goes, you can be 99% sure anything you buy in a mall, at sephora, at CVS (with the exception of Physicians Formula) is filled with chemicals, parabens, methylparabens, and other nasty ingredients. If you are looking for natural alternatives you can check out most health food stores with a body care and cosmetics counter, or Whole Foods. They have incredible lines that are mineral based and use gentle and natural ingredients. Generally you will not find certain colors- but if you're ok with that you WILL be happy with what you find! And what makes it even better is that there is no testing on animals or animal by-products! It's exciting and important for people to know they can still look pretty whilst making environmentally and socially responsible decisions!

Re: Giving things away- Using freecycle or even Craigslist is a wonderful way to ensure that your no longer wanted/needed items DO make it into a home or place where it can be used. OR if you want to, donating things to shelters and churches is always appreciated!

Thrift shops are amazing! You can find such fantastic treasures in them! Granted certain items should not be bought at a thrift store : sex toys, underwear, bathing suits and visibly used pillowcases. These are gross to buy second hand!

If you have any more questions let me know! I love that you are so into this!!! <3
