welcome to 2011- i believe it's going to be everyone's best year yet.
our 2010 was so awesome that we know this year we're going to try our damndest to keep it that way.

i have come to a conclusion on what i will be sharing with you guys on my blog this year. aside from travel/personal stories, i've come up with a concoction that should keep you interested.

• read 30 books or more
• yoga every day
• write more

and things i cannot share with you yet- too many ideas will drive you as crazy as i am!

To Know Me...

"to know me is to love me"

we've all heard this saying..

repeatedly, in my case.

who really believes such a phrase?

(yes, yes. sociopaths. i know!)

i believe that if you know yourself

and you are happy in your own skin,

your own shoes,

with WHO YOU ARE

that everything should fall into place.

for the most part, anyway.

there's people out there who believe

that to know them is to love them...

who don't understand that possibly,

MAYBE, INCREDIBLY

a lot of people don't.

or won't.

maybe people like you because of somethings

and don't like you because of other circumstances...

it's about finding a happy medium

that makes you friends with someone...

respect and compassion

that makes you solidify that relationship for life.

the gives, the takes, respect, understanding...

the likes and dislikes, the fights and the laughter...

i have found that "to know me is to love me"

need not apply

because no one has to like you

or want to be around you...

and that is a big realization i've come to

this year.

i am happy

surrounded by beauty:

in my family,

in my soulmate,

in my friends

and my puppy.

my writing, my thoughts,

my hobbies and passions...

our plans for the future,

and our plans for right now...

where i live,

where i'll go or not,

what i'll do or won't do...

during any season,

any year that i'll live...

it will all fall into place

because i am happy.

and that's all i've ever really wanted

for myself

and everyone around me.

picture shopping list

if i lived near a farm, or farmers market...

i would probably need a bigger house-

for canning, making beer, making wine,

canning sauces, freezing other food-stuffs,

and lots of room for entertaining...

and dining...

and board games (which i have been banned from playing with LML :)

i love wednesdays...erm, fridays!!

today, i had a beautiful day...
interrupted for a minute,
but otherwise beautiful!

my pup slept all day,
was uber-productive!

i didn't take many pictures,
not very many at all.

i organized our wardrobes,
the drawers and the closets.

i ran outside for a bit...


and then realized i didn't post this!!

what is it about the holidays?

seriously. what is it about the holidays that stresses everyone out. this is how i see it:
i hang out at my mom's all the time. i hang out with my in-laws all the time.
they come over. i go over.
we go out to lunch.
we hang out.

the same deal happens during the holidays, right?
then of course, those who are usually working are NOT working so they join in the crowd.
and there's a LOT of food involved.
and since there's in-laws...most of us have to eat TWICE!

and of course, there's beer and sangria (which i made yesterday) and other yummy things...
oh, and cheesecakes and muffins...don't forget i'm lactose intolerant.

and the rehashing of nostalgic stories, things we've either heard a million times or never at all...
(probably because we've heard the others a million times too many that the really interesting ones get pushed to the backburner.)

there's the best of intentions:

• clean as much as we can
• take as many pictures as we can
• eat some more

but how productive are we accomplishing those items?

in the shell of a nut,
holidays stress me out
but family
does not.

When Bored...

refresh your life!

*this is how my counseling skills come into play*

Step 1-

make a list of how your *ideal, ultimate* life would look like.

what would you be doing? what would you do differently?

 is your present life benefitting this reality?

who would be in your life?

Step 2-

How are you going to get there? Come on, you did the hard part.

Now bust your ass and make some more lists on how to

get what you want!

Step 3-

google. be open to *new* ways to get your *new* life to happen!

Step 4-

make a daily move forward...which means...

accomplish something off of your new to do list

every day, until...

Step 5-

you have the new life you want!
enjoy it!

Warning: this will not happen overnight. make your lists look pretty!
