ha.

So, the writer in me has something new going on. Apparently, breathing comes as naturally lately as writing does. Literally.
Ha.
I've found that writing is actually the key for me to keep my mind straight, be it a list, a blog post, a chapter or drawing for one of the 15 books I'm working on.
By the way- by 15, I am not exaggerating. Definitely not by any means exaggerating. In fact, I've cut back on   quite a few novels and have narrowed everything down to 15. I figure by the end of 2014 I COULD be done, IF I get an agent or a publisher interested in (at least) the trilogy I'm writing.
I guess you can say that writing has become a bigger part of me than I thought would be possible.

I guess, with my schedule and everything coming up, it should be expected that I am a little more stressed than usual...because usually, I'm not stressed at all.
Usually, I leave everything up to the universe and it all works out for me in the end...but yes, anxiety has set in for me at the age of 30.

There is so much to look forward to, that I know my to-do list, as short (compared to what's going on) as it can be will collect dust anyway.

So here are a teeny list of my goals for this summer:

  • visit some museums i've not been to, and write/blog about them
  • figure out places i've been to i haven't blogged about.
  • blog about the books i've read this year, which will be no easy feat.
  • maybe knock some items off my bucket list
  • get just a smidge more organized!
what are your goals for this summer?

love me,
the globetrotting gamine

one week ago today

( i love him)

one week ago today
it was new year's eve.

that was exactly the time when i thought to myself...

what am i doing?
what am i waiting for?

great time for an epiphany.

so i'm hanging out with two of my best female friends
and it hits me.

why am i holding myself back?
am i afraid of what people would think?

and they would tell me: no. that's funny.
just publish your books already.

so this week, i did.

this took much persuasion from my support group:
LML
Mom and Dad
Sisters
Besties

really, what do i care if i get a bad review
or if someone says something about me?

they do anyway!

moral of the story:
DON'T LET FEAR HOLD YOU BACK!
YOU ARE YOUR OWN WORST ENEMY...TELL YOURSELF TO SHUT UP AND
JUST ACCOMPLISH WHAT YOU WANT TO ACCOMPLISH!

why would you complain if you just do the things
you've always wanted to do
that you've been scared to do...
there's no reason to be scared.

we have less than one hundred years on earth, some of us. not more than 150!

just don't let fear hold you back.

and thanks
to my support group
and to you, lovely followers-

cuz without you guys
i wouldn't have done a thing ;)

love me,
the globetrotting gamine

indonesian tea time

on my secret bucket list...i've always wanted to go to a proper sit down tea time.
i was lucky enough this year to be invited to two tea-times with LML...and we had so much fun!

of course, after what you see, we crashed.
slept like babies, we did.

love me,
the globetrotting gamine

life's a journey

dear friends:

i was in my kitchen making wraps the other night, and taking breaks to watch Eloise at Christmastime...is that what it's called?...and i realized that it's that time of the year again. the time of year when i discover that i have way too much to do before the new year and that i would really like to get everything done....

so i can make a new to do list for the start of 2011.

snow on the ground and my car slipping and sliding has caused me a little setback in things i have to do away from home, but there is enough to do at home. so much, in fact, that we've reached ridiculous!

while on my three week blogging hiatus, i've also discovered that i have compiled enough information to share with you for the entire year, if not longer. inspirations were hitting me left and right and 20 minutes to write everything down and put everything together wasn't even enough!

I've put together:
  •  recipes,
  • travel craziness
  • stories,
  • island histories,
  • wishlists,
  • new york hisory articles,
  • health/nutrition tips,
  • a cigar section and more.
Obviously, this doesn't include my usual rantings, menus, book reviews and miscellania (sp?) going on.

if you have any ideas for me to expand on, let me know. I am thankful to a dear friend for suggesting the cigar section...and to my husband for suggesting that everyday i write about or do something different to write about to keep y'all entertained.

i would love to hear what's been going on with you! i am sad to say that i don't know if i'll be able to get to read many of my favorite blogs today...but maybe a little time over the weekend will help me out with that!

off to put more stuff together for you!

love me,
the globetrotting gamine

My Empire State Building

for my 23rd birthday,
LML wouldn't tell me where we were headed.

he had planned a whole day
just for us
and it was one of the sweetest things he'd ever done
(but this was years ago, and the man's amazing)

he helped me cross off a place i've always wanted to see
that had taken up residency
on my bucket list...

he took me to the empire state building.
he took pictures with me :)
then he fed me @ Mars2112...

though the pictures are in albums...
i'll never need them 'cause that day
has permanently imprinted itself in my mind.

but here are some shots anyway...

when you are in new york...
it's a MUST-SEE!!!
Must Must Must...

totally worth the walk, the lines, the everything :)

have you ever been? i'd love to hear your story!

love me,
the globetrotting gamine

The Ultimate Wants List

If anyone out there is reading this...you probably have a list with either blogging or journaling. That is what I have learned in this past week. Having lots of company over the past weekend also led me to reflect-somehow. It must have been the wine.

My Ultimate Wants List is as follows:
*to be happy accomplished in 2010
*to publish my books
*to publish my photos
*to start that idea for a fashion line!
*to acquire a one family home for me and my husband and possibly future kids, with yard, paid off.
*to travel the world began in 2009
*to have room for extensive shopping sprees
*to own a vacation home, fully paid off- to run away when we need to. or maybe just run away
*to have a huge library in my house- or own a bookstore. Either would make me happy
*to have the ultimate home office  accomplished in 2010
*to complete the garden at our house now, and all future homes as well
*to learn sign language and italian
*to one day adopt a baby (or maybe a pup will do!)

I go over this list every now and again, for motivation. Thankfully, I am not the only person who does this, though for a while I thought I was. I've filled journals with inspirational photos, quotes, etc cut out from magazines, had journals for drawing, traveling, etc. Of course, I'm thinking that my father threw must of them away (he loves to clean out everything), but the ones I lost would have been nice to have.

This weekend my Grandmother went to the hospital for the infection on her foot...and that caused my sister to lose her mind and yell at me (like it was my fault I was away with my other sister and family). Anyone else have a family member that completely gets on their nerves? Who's so selfish that it causes them grief...or hours of conversations? Blech.

There is so much to write about...so much to say- that there is barely enough time to do everything! I probably will blog more later....seeing as to it helps deal with stress :)
