Octoberpalooza

Welcome to 31 days of Octoberpalooza!

(fun fun fun)

So here's what the plan is for this month:

  • guest posts
  • more harvest activities
  • paranormal blurbs
  • haunt-y photos and stories
  • how pumpkin carving turned out
  • what i love the most about October
  • what my assistant loves the most about October
  • shots from October-past
  • and so much more!
This is really my most favorite month. I've been 31 years old for a few days, and my wedding anniversary of 7 years is on its way (8 years in city hall and I am so blessed- I'm the luckiest girl in the world)

Yay Octoberpalooza!

september madness

i have a confession to make:

i seriously, without a doubt, love september. So many reasons why float around my already cluttered brain:

  • the weather
  • autumn decor
  • crunch leaves under my boots
  • punkins' (i am aware of misspelling)
  • sunsets
  • the harvest
  • sunflowers
  • apple cider
  • pumpkin everything
  • plans with great friends
  • autumn autumn!
  • the peanuts gang
  • back to school (notebooks! pens! yay!)
  • back to baking
  • and the biggie- my BIRTHDAY!
It's my birthday month. Actually, in a timeline? I started going out with my hubby (again) in September, a lot of friends birthdays in September, we adopted our puppy in September- it's just a month where change is accepted and can't really be complained about.

I LOVE SEPTEMBER! Here's more reasons why:
preparing for my book launch!
(quite obviously this is not me, this is a screen still from The Mummy: Curse of the Dragon Emperor. Ultimate Inspiration. Property of the above (the mummy movies!) )

Sleeping in with a huge comfy comforter, and a small comfy dog. He wears shirts in the autumn. Yep. Shot by my loving husband. Geez.

Love me,

the best season

dear october--
thank you for being beautiful...
for apple cider and hot toddies,
for pumpkin pie and banana bread baking,
for the harvest,
for the usage of our hoodies
and allowing us to snuggle up in front of the fire with hot chocolate.

for friends and loved ones to share it all with...
for puppies dressed up in new gear and costumes, or just a sweater...

for ghosties and ghoulies, without all the gore,
apple picking and haunted corn mazes..

for all this and more.

thank you!!

pumpkin picky-picky

picture it: Harbes, Long Island, October 2010

our little friend insisting of pulling his own pumpkin wagon...
don't be fooled!
he's small but mighty :)

this is the one that he chose. of course, LML helped him load it up into the wagon...

he found out he couldn't pull
the wagon anymore due to
them there pumpkins.

this is a picture of him and his family;
our good friends of 10+ years,
they're more amazing than anyone
we'll ever know

there's LML, our little friend and me...
our 10th pumpkin picking trip
with good friends.

love. long. island.

love me,
the globetrotting gamine

a happy tuesday

hello and welcome to all my new bloggie friends :)

how are you? how was your weekend? i hope you had a lot of fun!
we accomplished a lot of "fun-harvest" time activities this weekend,
and i always come back feeling insanely happy and refreshed.

the only thing that we have not done yet this month?
MOONLIGHT MAZE! HAYRIDES! and so much more...

this week season holds a lot of weight in my to-do list.
the amount of duties i have to complete is ridiculous!

as we speak, my puppy is at resort-family. i will go pick him up in a little while :)
and today...office time!

that means a lot of writing, organizing, idea-making...
which leads to list making...

and you know how i am with lists.

happily, i have 2 pen pals to write back to,
and some time to do online shopping.

LML and I celebrated our FIVE year [church]wedding anniversary this weekend...
five! time flies...
in december, it will be SIX YEARS MARRIED! eeps!

We are trying to plan a big sort of shi-bang...a quiet one just between us
which i can tell y'all about when it's over...

very exciting.

one of them includes buying new furniture...
but it's a long-term plan that makes us happy.

(that conversation probably began when we've realized that our necessary evils would be console tables...)
we have nowhere to put our feet or magazines when we're lounging on the couch!)

ooh.
come to think of it- there's a lot of plans in the works...eeps!

well, off to list make, and attack my blog-n-tea time :)

what are you guys doing today?

love me,
the globetrotting gamine

10.07.2010

busy busy

  • coffee
  • gym
  • coffee
  • baby baby baby-sitting
  • lunch
  • meeting up with friend
  • home
  • dinner- cook it!
  • sigh

what are YOU doing today?!

autumn project

dear bloggie friends:

when it gets colder outside, it seems like all i want to do is bake (monday it was brownies...today it's a loaf of bread...more about those soon!) and craft.
i am only showing you part of the project because i (once again) did not take before pictures.
why is it that i always forget?

so i'm redecorating makeshift shelves...and they will look pretty when I am done.

i'm really quite excited about it. i have to get it done before november...
because then in december i have a huge undertaking of a project.

re: scapbooks.

yay.

what projects make you happy?

love me,
the globetrotting gamine

10.04.2010

picture shopping list

if i lived near a farm, or farmers market...
i would probably need a bigger house-
for canning, making beer, making wine,
canning sauces, freezing other food-stuffs,
and lots of room for entertaining...
and dining...

and board games (which i have been banned from playing with LML :)

happy monday!

love me,
the globetrotting gamine :)

i miss you

dear bloggie friends:
things are crazy,
and i miss you.

i have so much on my to-do list,
that my bloggie time is suffering...

and computer time overall...
but there are many stories in my head waiting to be written
and food in my house waiting to be cooked.

we shopped til we dropped this weekend...
and had a drink...2 drinks...with friends :)

wish you were here with us!
and hope the beginning of your fall season
is BEAUUUUTIFUL!

more later

love me!
the globetrotting gamine

i can't wait for fall

i can't wait for fall!
people go back to school...and off the roads
the leaves change color and crunch under your toes...
there are harvest festivals and fun things to do with friends like...

take 'haunted walks'!!!

here are some photos...
that's us...that's my eye in the left hand corner!...going on a haunted tour of fort totten, in 2007...

my eye isn't lazy. it just looks that way ;)
there's the dude in the scream mask chasing my friends cuz she's very cute :)

on the bus ride back from the walk!
the bridge behind me...it got so cold out!!

what are you planning to do this fall?!

love me,
the globetrotting gamine

A Glimpse...

This is where I work. Writing & Creating- with a cup o'joe or tea. Today's tea? Celestial Seasoning's Tension Tamer! Ah...

I stare at flowers while I work...

I've been mixing drinks at night for fun. It's always been on my list of things to do, so for the first time, I'm doing it!

Of course, thrown in to the mix of the day is what I want to be doing vs. what I should be doing.

It's perfect fall weather today- the kind of weather where one is almost SURE that magic is going to happen. Also, the kind of weather that one would like to fall asleep in. We hit the snooze button three times today.

My husband has been working like a dog, thus he is going to get sick like one. Today, he forgot his cough medicine at home. We'll stay in tonight (TGIF!) so we can be refreshed for the weekend's events.

My grandmother is still in the hospital. All the doctors there are giving her the run-around because they want to keep her there for observations; meanwhile, she's bored. Everyone in the family is running all over the place to get things done. I can't say it's easy, but I heard today she's coming home. Let's see...

A long time ago, someone told me it doesn't matter what you write, just make sure your words get out there. So, now there out there, but is anyone listening? I keep wondering what to do with my completed books...send out query letters or wait for copyright paperwork? Advice would be greatly appreciated but in the meantime...

Gingerbread cookies are about to go in the oven...my fur-friend is sleeping. What I need to do today? Everything? What I probably will do? Bake.

Blessed Be,

MG
