this and that
(photo taken in a rainy Washington D.C.)
thank you for wandering over to my blog! how are you?
i hope everything is going brilliantly for you!
yes- there has been a LOT going on, to answer your questions
and i am SO glad to have received your e-mails and comments :)
the two major projects that i've been working on are constant works in progress--
the only thing keeping me sane is the fact
that the deadline for one of them
is in april.
serious and exciting stuff!
i love the opportunities and possibilities that winter brings about--
it's kind of cathartic and inspires me to do so much
(re:: last years' happiness project goals)
in the midst of that, there has been much future planning of plans ;)
going on between LML and friends
it's uber-exciting and all will be revealed in due time.
i am thankful for so much,
and every morning when i wake up
i smile and give the puppy a squeeze and thank goodness
that i am alive
and happy...
and i hope you are doing the same!
live the life, people :)
love me,
the globetrotting gamine

dear honduras
Honduras Checklist:
sight-seetake picturesgo to the best beachtalk to the locals to find out where to go for lunchgo to lunch and eat something new and crazy
then we had to battle itty bitty sand flies on the beach so i wrapped myself up like a mummy while LML sought solace in the sea.
of course, we find out that the locals swore by this place, so we chose to have a yummy lunch of:
rice
beans
plantains
local beer (holy moly, that beer pictured below is awesome)
and iguana.
yes, iguana.
pictures below of our meal with a friend...
though it sounds creepy and weird...
it really wasn't- it was quite good.
this deters a little from our nightly vegetarian feasts we usually prepare back home
but everyone needs to come out of their comfort zone somehow and
we are so glad we did.
here's to good food and good friends ;)
love me,
the globetrotting gamine

writing...exhaustion?
i know that only my blogger and writer friends will relate when i go over yesterdays schedule...
6:30 to 9:30 am ::: up, get dressed, errands, make the coffee, drink the coffee, clean the kitchen, construct to do list, make the files, pinterest, phone calls, leave the house
9:30 to 10:30 am ::: make sure your ten notebooks are in your extra carry on, head to the gas station for more gas, proceed to destination to meet with writer friend(s)/colleagues
10:30 am to 12:00 pm ::: more tea, writing, ideas, plans, know that either allergies or cold have begun to kick my ass. and buy eggs cuz i ran out.
12:00 pm to 1:30 pm ::: hit places of research for 2 more meetings, pick up snack because i just realized i didn't eat all day, wipe tears from now-exhasted eyes, and make way to parentals house so that i can (sorry) use their bathroom
1:30 to 3 pm ::: get to parentals house and use that bathroom, wash up, eat now soggy snack and down 2 bottles of water, curl up with my notebook and write down even more ideas that have appeared in my head since all the meetings. see family, talk. stretch. get into car to go back home.
3 to 5:45 pm ::: takes extra long to drive home because someone is driving in front of you with no clue how to do so, thus doubling the time it takes for you to get home and use your own toilet because now you have to pee again, run inside and notice that the dog made a stinky you have to clean but you don't care because you still have to pee, so take care of those two things and wash up again AND start dinner. and clean again. and make your to do list for tomorrow. and pour a glass of wine and curl up on the couch, utterly defeated from ideas and the cold or allergies you have comin'.
5:45 to 6:30 pm :::
"woof woof woof" says pup.
"daddy's not home yet, boy."
"woooooooo" says pup.
"but..."
knock knock.
hubby walks through door.
6:30 to 7:30 pm :::
dinnertime
7:30 til bedtime :::
talk. cuddle. bother pup. get harassed by pup to go to bedroom so he can lay on the bed and start snoring before we do. check to do list. lay down and pass out after the big bang theory.
does anyone relate?

adoption from pup's point of view
hi.
pup here.
how is your weekend going?
i just wanted to share a little story with you.
7 years ago i was born.
and 8 months after that
i was adopted by this really tall guy
who fell right in love with me.
he took me away with all of my stuff
and on a long journey from where i used to live
we pulled up to what he said was my new home.
i was so scared
that he was going to leave me
somewhere i didn't want to be
because the truth is...
i liked him.
so he walked me into this house,
knocked on a door and ordered someone to hide...
and then he set me down on the floor.
doing a quick check-- the house smelled good...
it was decorated for autumn
and even though it was very clean
you could tell that a lot of people were always there
then this new guy yells to no one, to open the door
and i saw this frazzled looking girl
who was suddenly so happy to see me!!
ME!
was this my new home?
were these my new people??
so i ran and ran and ran
for what felt like forever
until i took a running leap into the girls arms
and licked her ferociously
so that i could show her i wanted to stay....
and i wanted to make sure
that the guy who smelled good
knew i liked him, too,
so i ran to him and gave him some licks.
and then the most wonderful things happened.
they scooped me up into both of their arms
and gave me hugs...
and shut the door.
they told me i was home.

why time warner sucks
i'm just going to list a bullet list as to why no one should even go the time warner route. it would be better to just keep reading books!
YOU'RE THE ONES WHO MADE THE MISTAKES!!!! YOU YOU YOU
TIME WARNER, really?
don't do it.
- you process a payment and they STEAL money from the account more than you AUTHORIZE! i mean, really? with a confirmation number even, it's still your fault is it not.
- you speak to individuals who really couldn't give a crap. what happened to the customer is always right? pfft.
- you try to fix the mistakes that they've made. do they ever call you back? no. does one person ever call back- maybe- only to leave you a message that they cannot do anything. REALLY- BUT YOU CAN STEAL MONEY THAT DOESN'T BELONG TO YOU?
- then somehow, it's your fault. You've been paying bills for the last 15 years out of your own pocket and through the telephone but your fingers didn't type 200.00, they typed in 523 and change!!
- where is there a supervisor when you need one?
- oh good, now i'm on hold again.
- is there anyone in your department that CAN help me? of course not.
- thank you for trying to fix the mistake. i'm sure i will hear back from you ASAP. NOTTTTT
- two days later, i have no money in the account because time warner decided to steal it and you still haven't fixed the mistake.
- two days later, the paperwork from the first phone call that was supposed to fix the mistake wasn't processed!!! WTFFF
- not like i expected it to be since you have mine and someone else's money.
- hello! one supervisor who understands my plight and tells me to fight it with the bank.
- off to the bank with my family i go! for an hour- since it's time warners fault!
- had to call time warner again because they still haven't called me.
- on the phone for another two hours- definitely spent 12 hours talking to them this month. do they want to pay my phone bill? yeah, right.
- figured since i'm on the phone with them to downgrade my plan because they suck. they transfer me to a person who does not accept what i have to say because i am saving $16 on my present plan. WTFFF LISTEN TO ME!!!
- back to the supervisor. it's going to take another three weeks!
- i plotz.
- life happens and the $523 is back in the account. YAY for good banks!
- i try to pay that $200 when they cut my service the next night...
- IT WON'T ALLOW IT TO PROCESS!
- THERE IS NO ONE IN THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT TO FIX IT!
- THEY WENT HOME!
- i have no cable.
- CAN YOU WAIT ON HOLD PLEASE?
- sure, 42 minutes of my time is nothing to you people. why not?
- there are other mistakes on your account!
YOU'RE THE ONES WHO MADE THE MISTAKES!!!! YOU YOU YOU
TIME WARNER, really?
don't do it.
