it's true. not like this should be a shocker to most of you that read my blog, but i am so weird.
for example, the list of things that i want to do with the next 15 years of my life should mind-boggle most 30 year olds...50 year olds...boggles my mother's mind, that's for sure.
so, knowing all these years that i am weird and dealing with bullying at a young age kind of got me to where i am today. and i'm thankful. where am i today? ha, good question.
home. enjoying the weather. watching my puppy stare at me while i write and create more lists and read more books.
about to step out to the library and possibly on a photo hunt.
making all my dreams come true at a rate i never thought possible?
that's where i am today.
by now you know that i'm very secretive/protective of my life and that of my friends and family's.
i know that there are know it all's out there. i am not one of them. people only tell you what they want to tell you- it's the way of the world. i can't judge- though i used to. that made it easy for people to bully me through manipulative ways.
those people aren't in my life anymore.
many of you probably think that i stick to a strict schedule of writing and reading. for the most part, i try to. the winter are my busiest working months, and by the time summer rolls around i am swimming in new material for new stories and scrapbooks...and to do lists.
being completely content with my life astounds most people around me. it always has. i used to care- time having gone by has allowed me to not care and chase some more dreams down.
have i changed? i like to think that i haven't. i believe that people grow up but that their cores are unchanging.
so if i've been M.I.A, it's because i'm busy doing summer things so i can complete these to-do list demands of mine before i continue on this crazy whirlwind i call life.
and i hope your summer is going well, too!
<3
see you in a few weeks!

movie madness
In December, LML and I were away.
I'll admit- when we're away, we don't tend to say we are.
I like my private life- just that way. private.
So, while we were on holiday, on a beach somewhere...
we made a list of all these movies we'd have to catch once being home for a while.
(and duh- i always travel with more than one notebook and oodles of pens)
my list look something liked this....

(and duh- i always travel with more than one notebook and oodles of pens)
my list look something liked this....
- Larry Crowne
- The Help
- Super 8
- Midnight in Paris
- Crazy Stupid Love
- Secretariat
- Water for Elephants
- all the Paranormal Activities
- Eat Pray Love (again)
- Hot Tub Time Machine
- Take me home tonight
- Dinner for Schmucks (I'm sure I didn't spell this correctly)
- Life as we Know it
- My soul to take
- Morning Glory
- Black Swan
- How do you know
- Hangover 2
- The Rite
- The Roomate
- Just go with it
- Unknown
- Hall Pass
- Adjustment Bureau
- 50/50
- In Time
- Tower Heist
- J. Edgar
- Immortals
- Jack and Jill
- Descendants
- Hugo
- Week with Marilyn
- Beastly
- Paul
- Red Riding Hood
- Bridesmaids
- Art of Getting By
- Bad Teacher
- One Day
- Horrible Bosses
- Dream House
- Our Idiot Brother
- Don't be afraid of the Dark
- I don't know how she does it
- Let me in
Obviously, we've been away and busy in the last two years.
The chunk of time that we've been stationed in one locale, we've adjusted the list a few times.
Now, it looks like this...
- Larry Crowne
The HelpSuper 8Midnight in ParisCrazy Stupid Love- Secretariat
Water for Elephants- all the Paranormal Activities
Eat Pray Love (again)Hot Tub Time Machine- Take me home tonight
- Dinner for Schmucks (I'm sure I didn't spell this correctly)

Bad TeacherOne DayHorrible Bosses- Dream House
- Our Idiot Brother
- Don't be afraid of the Dark
- I don't know how she does it
Let me in
Here's the math...
The price of a movie in New York is approximately $10 (and I'm being nice).
Together, if we'd gone to see every movie on this list, we'd have spend over $900. (um, holy crap?)
That's a whole vacation (or more than one vaca, depending where you're spending it) for two!
Since we've been back, we've accomplished 21 movies on this list- roughly.
That's still $420 dollars saved.
We've seen all these movies in the last few months at the expense of the wonderful people over at our present 'cable company'...which is not time warner, cuz they blew chunks.
Our favorites out of these 21 movies:
- Hangover 2
- Paul
- Hot tub time machine
- bridesmaids
As I'm a girl, to my list I'm adding:
5. The Help (which was "OK" to LML but "Boring.")
6. Midnight in Paris (which was about the plight of a writer--LML understands me, but not other writers. LOL)
7. Jack and Jill (I love Adam Sandler...LML chuckles at a few lines. I would love Adam Sandlers career- so I always closely pay attention.)
Thus concludes our list of movie madness so far. Help us add to it :) e-mail me at whosthatgamine@gmail.com

ha.
So, the writer in me has something new going on. Apparently, breathing comes as naturally lately as writing does. Literally.
Ha.
I've found that writing is actually the key for me to keep my mind straight, be it a list, a blog post, a chapter or drawing for one of the 15 books I'm working on.
By the way- by 15, I am not exaggerating. Definitely not by any means exaggerating. In fact, I've cut back on quite a few novels and have narrowed everything down to 15. I figure by the end of 2014 I COULD be done, IF I get an agent or a publisher interested in (at least) the trilogy I'm writing.
I guess you can say that writing has become a bigger part of me than I thought would be possible.
I guess, with my schedule and everything coming up, it should be expected that I am a little more stressed than usual...because usually, I'm not stressed at all.
Usually, I leave everything up to the universe and it all works out for me in the end...but yes, anxiety has set in for me at the age of 30.
There is so much to look forward to, that I know my to-do list, as short (compared to what's going on) as it can be will collect dust anyway.
So here are a teeny list of my goals for this summer:
Ha.

- visit some museums i've not been to, and write/blog about them
- figure out places i've been to i haven't blogged about.
- blog about the books i've read this year, which will be no easy feat.
- maybe knock some items off my bucket list
- get just a smidge more organized!
what are your goals for this summer?

i have a problem!
yes.
i have a problem.
now, i'm sure i've mentioned this problem before and am totally aware other people have the same problem, which is why i feel safe sharing it with the bloggie-world.
my problem is: lists.
as a writer, my list-problem is heightened by a sense of urgency and constant ideas.
as a writer, the storing of journals and notebooks [and more] for said lists and ideas is out of control!
when i was a teenager, i thought i was the only one with this issue. eventually, i met a friend who had a similar issue- i was extremely thankful for this. however, where my lists were mostly idea-related, hers were always material-related.
who am i to judge? i have my own problems here!
catapulting through college literally, would not have been made possibly with out my endless lists built into my planners. each item was a different color relating to a different field. i would cross them out with one single line when each item was complete.
it scared my colleagues. it scared my supervisors- to one of them in particular which i say, HAHA!
but i was lucky, because i loved them, and they still thought i was amusing, so...
by the time the whirlwind of my roaring 20s began, there was more than one notebook, list and planner. i consolidated everything into one and tried to pass on the idea to my nearest and dearest as i found that i never lost a thing! i would write and write, tape in important information into these notebooks and agendas and all was well with my crazy world.
i guess my problem is that it continues to grow and sprout ideas- so i hope, at the very least, that this problem is anything but! let your freak flag fly :)

notes from...
notes taken from my journal about a month ago.
with no specific order, or reasons, enjoy some bullet-notes about me:
with no specific order, or reasons, enjoy some bullet-notes about me:
- i don't like to be negative, or around negative people. or materialistic people.
- allergies really suck.
- i am waiting for quite a few things via the snail mail system that i simply cannot wait for. when they get here, photos to follow.
- people who are bloggy copy cats amuse me. quite flattering, i must say.
- research is really hard work.
- there has been so much going on, we haven't slowed down since May.

i understand
my beautiful Aunt pointed out yesterday...
that i have artist's block.
she's right, though i feel as if the term
is a complete understatement!
here i am with boxes and boxes
(not kidding)
of stuff i want to do
or have to do
and the mojo to do it
is nowhere to be found.
i should locate the book she recommended
and see if it helps...
but then it would be another item
on an ever growing to do list.
i've read about 3.5 books in the last few days...
which should have cleared my mind somehow
but it really didn't...and i spent the rest of the day
booking appointments and scheduling my dvr
for this crazy schedule i've got going on.
so today is all about gathering everything up
and executing as many of the tasks on my list as possible
before a beautiful weekend spent with LML...
and so that Monday...
I can get back to (you ready for this?):
that i have artist's block.

- clearing out more clutter

well...
i guess that explains the block ;)

bamboozled.
Hello.
You've been bamboozled.
Rick Rolled.
Whatever that means.
But that is how I feel.
Yes. I am super-list girl. I can organize ANYTHING.
Anything: the mundane like, breakfast, lunch and dinner. (not that food is a mundane thing to ME...I am a foodie, after all!)
Wardrobes, travel plans, appointments, assignments...I've been around and SO in the NOT so sexy way. LOL
I've planned my wedding, showers for friends, parties, homes. I've even redecorated a few out of dire necessity and have photographic proof.
But today (though yes, I did have a lot going on) I feel as if I CAN'T ORGANIZE MY OWN THOUGHTS!
i mean, seriously. what's going on? i've made list after list. i have a huge idea of what i need and have to do.
i can't bring myself to do anything more than what i need to do (like the dishes. the floors. the bathroom. golly.)
in my 30 years, i have learned that there are things in life that i don't want to live without. like love, hugs, snuggles...family, puppy, LML, friends...and a dishwasher. a maid service. a magic wand?
oh...various publishers.
really, there's enough for another list.
so as i sit here researching for my next few books/stories/novels, i wonder...
do other creatives/writers get into this mood?
and don't lie to me. i hate that. :)

i have discovered
this week have discovered that:
happy monday <3
love me,
the globetrotting gamine
- my to-do list should, pretty much, grow legs. it would be much easier to taunt me while it chases around my house and wherever.
- true friends are just that, and they make me happy.
- everyday should be mother's day, father's day, valentine's day. isn't there something wrong with celebrating important relationships only one day a year? i think so.
- vacations should be funded by the government and required at least once a year.
- people should really start looking at why they're miserable instead of making the happy also miserable. stop trying to get people down if your life sucks, and fix it. it's not the happy people's (or my) problem!
- there should be more hours in the day!
- there should be more time to drink wine, read, stare at flowers, take pictures, and smile.
happy monday <3

the globetrotting gamine

so happy
hi and happy sunday, bloggie friends :)
as i write this to you all, i am winding down with some blackberries and a cup of chamomile saffron tea going over the events of the weekend. spending some time with my friends was the downtime i needed to feel refreshed. i am truly blessed to have such happy, amazing (and busy!) people in my life.
we talked about life, love, doggies and food. our new travel destinations and ideas, plans and whatever has been going on while we've been snowed in! i love them so, so much.
this week, i am hoping to get out there and get some things done that i've said i was going to do on my blog and post about them...which brings me to my february list (do you believe that it's the 6th already? Geez)
Let's look at my progress, which is not as great as i think it should be...
YAY:
finish writing two of my novels
i am not going to lie and say that i have done much in this department. i was feeling totally unmotivated this week to even try to write down a word, fearing that i would ruin the harmony of my books' ideas. but i got amazing ideas this weekend!
finish illustrations for my second children's book
this item i have been working on diligently, with some advice from my good friends who are much more advanced than i am in the illustrating/drawing/painting realm.
stay in touch
love, love, love my friends. and i am apologizing to them in advance (i'm sorry!) for sending you out old cards, letters, and holiday greetings from yester-year. lol
spread joy
i am definitely going to try to spread some more joy. hopefully we don't get hit with more snow and ice to have that happen.
say i love you more
this is the goal i've kept up best. i kind of think that i'm driving poor LML crazy...
20 minute activity three times a week
yep. activity is all that's been going on while i've been tucked away in this house- there is ALWAYS something that pops up that i need to do.
wash windows
not yet.
wash walls
not yet.
clean grout
not yet, but i am prepared.
scour pots and pans-
i shined one up real nice, and will post the pictures tomorrow!
polish wood
not yet
research my spring activities
i have SO started this item!
donate, donate
i am setting up donations and ideas for sites i would like to volunteer at. i am uber-excited about this.
cook/bake new things (this is where 'the kind diet' resolution comes in)
on the menu tomorrow is my next try for lentil soup via the kind diet. i really love this book and can't wait to delve into it a little more.
begin making appointments for activities in springtime (march and on)
i am just so happy today!
lots of love and enjoy the rest of the weekend!
(i am not watching the superbowl, but i AM squirming while my LML watches Taboo. Eeps.)
as i write this to you all, i am winding down with some blackberries and a cup of chamomile saffron tea going over the events of the weekend. spending some time with my friends was the downtime i needed to feel refreshed. i am truly blessed to have such happy, amazing (and busy!) people in my life.
we talked about life, love, doggies and food. our new travel destinations and ideas, plans and whatever has been going on while we've been snowed in! i love them so, so much.
this week, i am hoping to get out there and get some things done that i've said i was going to do on my blog and post about them...which brings me to my february list (do you believe that it's the 6th already? Geez)
Let's look at my progress, which is not as great as i think it should be...
YAY:
i am not going to lie and say that i have done much in this department. i was feeling totally unmotivated this week to even try to write down a word, fearing that i would ruin the harmony of my books' ideas. but i got amazing ideas this weekend!
finish illustrations for my second children's book
this item i have been working on diligently, with some advice from my good friends who are much more advanced than i am in the illustrating/drawing/painting realm.
stay in touch
love, love, love my friends. and i am apologizing to them in advance (i'm sorry!) for sending you out old cards, letters, and holiday greetings from yester-year. lol
spread joy
i am definitely going to try to spread some more joy. hopefully we don't get hit with more snow and ice to have that happen.

cue the music!
hi and welcome bloggie friends:
i apologize that my thoughts are all over the place. it's the first of the month, after all. i have to get my mind in order for what is to come! i always try to bring you original blogs- i am an extremely organized person but i don't want my blog/ blog articles mirroring other great blogs.
that's just me.
this month, me and a certain special someone celebrate- HIS BIRTHDAY! LML and I have been celebrating his birthday together for as far back as I can remember. He is extremely laid back (like me!), not a partyer, and wants to do what he wants to do...like me! lol
Hopefully, this year we'll have thawed out a little by the time his big day rolls around. We already celebrated my wonderful Puppy's birthday on the 29th! He's 6! And a sleepy 6 year old at that, he's been sleeping all day without not even a glance at his chicken.
My day has consisted of dancing, writing, and organizing what's left of my paperwork compilation. My January List (you can click the label on the sidebar) is all done, though i will be transferring the 'because of weather' incomplete items here...so here's my February list!
YAY:
- finish writing two of my novels
- finish illustrations for my second children's book
- stay in touch
- spread joy
- say i love you more
- 20 minute activity three times a week
- wash windows
- wash walls
- clean grout
- scour pots and pans
- polish wood
- research my spring activities
- donate, donate
- cook/bake new things (this is where 'the kind diet' resolution comes in)
- begin making appointments for activities in springtime (march and on)
i'm very excited!!
if you have any ideas/ questions or anything you'd like to share- don't be shy! i love hearing from you all <3
love me,

my resolutions-2011
i wish i had the brain power (and not the cabin-fever-ridden brain i have now) to make a really awesome, noteworthy resolution list...
but i don't think i do :)
here are the resolutions i have been working on for quite some times, that haven't worked so well in the past...that's why i stopped making them in 2001.
10 years later, I'm back...so here we go :)
Globetrotting Gamine- The Resolutions
ok, that's it for now. it's just the beginning.

- catch up on movies i've missed in 2010
- try to find an economical tennis lesson venue! yay!
- continue my travel scrapbooks...
- bake vegan*, cook and bake more!
ok, that's it for now. it's just the beginning.

my january list update
so it's sunday, and i am home sick like no one's business.
it is supposed to be dropped to 7 degrees in New York tonight- egads- and i am worried i am going to get so much sicker.
i keep having to check the boiler to see if it's working and has enough water pumping through it, and i'm afraid if i nap it won't help me.
so pup and LML are taking a nap for me while watching the married with children marathon.
i figured that i'll be stuck at home at least for a couple of days this week, because it's going to snow- again!
so here's the perfect time to update my January List/Project...
so here's the list and my updates...
edit and complete all stories and novels- i have finished and published my big manuscript (send me a private message about it here if you'd like), my first children's book, and as of right now I am illustrating my second children's book. i worked on my writing portfolio and it's in perfect order ~:)
illustrate children's stories (for my nephew) - working on second book and there's so many more that i should inspire myself by taking a drawing class.
clean out the house of negative stuff- i have some more things to go through and throw away but i have done so much! i am quite pleased with what i've accomplished with this list item.
clean it out of un-necessary clutter- garbage bag upon garbage bag have been thrown away and there are so many more waiting to be packed. so exciting to know you're going to start off on a clean slate.
take all loose photos and put them in album- i have entered photos into 2 albums and i need more albums! lol
complete all scrapbooks, unfinished or untouched- haven't gotten to this list item yet, but have organized scrapbook stuff into one drawer. it's ready to go!
print out what needs to get printed out on this computer- that's my tomorrow morning task and it will be complete by lunchtime, though i have done a lot of that this week!
delete un-needed files from computer- i did that with the documents file and have organized them into folders as well. progress!
upload all photos into usb disc AND photo programs - i should be getting this done this week
select photos to be printed- this list item might be the most difficult because i have so much else to do, but i do have until the end of the month!
get them printed (and repeat above)- ditto.
finish reading all books left before i buy or pick up a new one- i am reading the books on my sidebar, and i have 27 books to read that i am quite excited about. i will be working on them this year.
call church to pick up clothes for donation- my niece decided to pool our clothing donations for the salvation army...check!
go through and complete everything on my to-do list, which has come down considerably in the last two days. I am VERY excited about this.- now i accomplish a daily to do list and it works out so great! i have knocked so many items off of my 'master' to do list that this was the only solution
send out those packages! - its too cold to be out for too long, but as soon as it gets warmer, i am on it!
make those appointments (snow keeps stopping me from doing this)- still being stopped :/
start book club- that's going to happen by february 1st!
organize all files/bills - i can't tell you how cathartic it was to do this but i am not done with this list item yet. i felt so productive tackling one drawer the other day that i treated myself to a cookie.
seriously.
make a list of places from here to long island i'd like to see- i have and i think i may have blogged it! if not, i will blog it soon!
make my new years resolutions- ahhh that's going to be a long list! better get crackin' on it.

despite-
dear bloggie friends:
hi :)
writing to you is one of my joys this morning. the weather is dark and gloomy (and icy!) outside here in New York and it's allowing me to accomplish things i want to do today (see what i'm talking about here).
blogging gives me a sense of accomplishment- i record my thoughts and ideas
my inspirations and dreams
and hopefully i inspire others
to do the same.
life is too short to not do something you've always wanted to do.
so if you're stuck at home and can't do it- research it! read about it :)
if you are able to do something while you're stuck at home-
do it and post the progress on your blog!
it's your personal space to do with what you will...
this just excites me.
today i will be tackling "my goal for yesterday" (i.e., manuscript)
and cleaning my office,
and creating a planner (if I have all the right tools)
wondering if i'll have time to do it all and
squeeze some scrapbooking in, too!
what's your favorite thing to do when you're stuck at home?
i would love to know- you all inspire me so much :)
love me,
the globetrotting gamine

monday wishes :)
good wishes to you on this pretty but cold in NY monday morning.
what did you all do this weekend? (no matter what you did, i hope you had a blast!
after a long weekend filled with running errands, food and friends- we're back into the routine of the work-week.
i know LML doesn't have it as easy as i do, but with the Monday schedule of cooking, vaccuming, cleaning, laundry and other misc., sometimes it gets annoying.
However, I get through the day with this guy's help:
today, it's my goal to get everything done- right down to my regularly scheduled monday programming, along with having some fun meeting an amazing friend for lunch and finishing this manuscript. maybe working on my january checklist.
the question remains: can i get it done?
what are your plans for today?
love me,
the globetrotting gamine <3<3

live, laugh, love
and what i hope you all do as well.
i am so sorry that i've bogged you down with so much information this week!
as always, everything i share is very important to me-
right down to every one of my photographs and exclamation points.
i have been so productive this week (and so unproductive at the same time!)
that i don't want to expose everything i've done yet
but i can't sit still :)
a warm and fuzzy welcome
to all my new followers...
hi!
please feel free to float around and leave me comments wherever!
if there is anything i can do for you, i will if you ask!
in the meantime, this weekend is going to be filled with hot chocolate, tea, LML, and puppy.
i will have finished my HUGE and ever-growing manuscript (i hope!)
i'll have organized my office, visit a restaurant or two, and run some errands.
my assistant will fall asleep watching the tube, of course!
i am afraid to say i'll see my friends- because of the snow that may be arriving tomorrow-
but i would love to see you and have some wine over your cigars <3
in the meantime, i am making my spinach tofu wraps...
what are you all up to this weekend? <3

today's stuff
as i sit here, i am wondering...
what have i gotten myself into?
my january list is unbelievable and i have not even scratched the surface!
remember these?:
the list goes as follows:

p-shaw! maybe i can finish the book first!
seriously, this is what my office looks like:
that's a close up of my desk. i need to put up that photo in a frame and bring down that pile to the left of the photo. it's a hot mess. in there is some scrapbooks of sorts and stuff i need to scrapbook with, as well as the templates i'll be using to illustrate my next children's book.
ah, wide view of the office. let's start with the posters to the left of the desk...
they will be getting put on a bulletin board when i get to it.
then, on my chair there, is the other pile of stuff i will be working on.
that's 3 scrapbooks, a book i am interested in writing and publishing that's pretty much done,
and magazines to read.
to the right of my desk? that's the cabinet that i'm working on crafting. it's not completely done yet.
it's on my list of things to finish.
those 2 bags in the bottom half of it have items to BLOG! in it.
that's a crap-load of information about travel and if anything-
i'd like to share various kinds of information i find interesting
that may help you guys out a little.
i like to weed out magazines and save the interesting stuff!
ugh.
after i'm done with this editing and publishing book, i have no idea where to begin.
ideas?
(and thanks to all who listened to me vent <3)
