september madness

i have a confession to make:

i seriously, without a doubt, love september. So many reasons why float around my already cluttered brain:

  • the weather
  • autumn decor
  • crunch leaves under my boots
  • punkins' (i am aware of misspelling)
  • sunsets
  • the harvest
  • sunflowers
  • apple cider
  • pumpkin everything
  • plans with great friends
  • autumn autumn!
  • the peanuts gang
  • back to school (notebooks! pens! yay!)
  • back to baking
  • and the biggie- my BIRTHDAY!
It's my birthday month. Actually, in a timeline? I started going out with my hubby (again) in September, a lot of friends birthdays in September, we adopted our puppy in September- it's just a month where change is accepted and can't really be complained about.

I LOVE SEPTEMBER! Here's more reasons why:
preparing for my book launch!
(quite obviously this is not me, this is a screen still from The Mummy: Curse of the Dragon Emperor. Ultimate Inspiration. Property of the above (the mummy movies!) )

Sleeping in with a huge comfy comforter, and a small comfy dog. He wears shirts in the autumn. Yep. Shot by my loving husband. Geez.

i have a problem!

yes.
i have a problem.
now, i'm sure i've mentioned this problem before and am totally aware other people have the same problem, which is why i feel safe sharing it with the bloggie-world.

my problem is: lists.

as a writer, my list-problem is heightened by a sense of urgency and constant ideas.
as a writer, the storing of journals and notebooks [and more] for said lists and ideas is out of control!

when i was a teenager, i thought i was the only one with this issue. eventually, i met a friend who had a similar issue- i was extremely thankful for this. however, where my lists were mostly idea-related, hers were always material-related.

who am i to judge? i have my own problems here!

catapulting through college literally, would not have been made possibly with out my endless lists built into my planners. each item was a different color relating to a different field. i would cross them out with one single line when each item was complete.

it scared my colleagues. it scared my supervisors- to one of them in particular which i say, HAHA!
but i was lucky, because i loved them, and they still thought i was amusing, so...

by the time the whirlwind of my roaring 20s began, there was more than one notebook, list and planner. i consolidated everything into one and tried to pass on the idea to my nearest and dearest as i found that i never lost a thing! i would write and write, tape in important information into these notebooks and agendas and all was well with my crazy world.

i guess my problem is that it continues to grow and sprout ideas- so i hope, at the very least, that this problem is anything but! let your freak flag fly :)

road trip 2012 facts

so, you plan to take off for a few days- on a road to anywhere. you pack the necessities, and maybe some nice things just in case. you fit snack food and bottled water in the trunk of the 'road trip-mobile' and you take off.

usually, there's a driver and a passenger, and to make it a lot more fun- the backseat drivers.

that's just what happened while i was MIA from bloggie land.

it is lovely to get away and see new places...
especially when the first place looks like this-
the town of milton in deleware
was insanely picturesque
and set the tone for the rest of our trip.
don't worry-
we were on our way to somewhere.

though the rain on this first leg of our journey
was relentless after these shots were taken-
well, it didn't put a damper (ahaha!)
in what we did :)

let me know what you think :)

i understand

my beautiful Aunt pointed out yesterday...
that i have artist's block.

she's right, though i feel as if the term
is a complete understatement!

here i am with boxes and boxes
(not kidding)
of stuff i want to do
or have to do
and the mojo to do it
is nowhere to be found.

i should locate the book she recommended
and see if it helps...
but then it would be another item
on an ever growing to do list.

i've read about 3.5 books in the last few days...
which should have cleared my mind somehow
but it really didn't...and i spent the rest of the day
booking appointments and scheduling my dvr
for this crazy schedule i've got going on.

so today is all about gathering everything up
and executing as many of the tasks on my list as possible
before a beautiful weekend spent with LML...
and so that Monday...

I can get back to (you ready for this?):

  • writing my screenplay
  • working on my new y.a. novel
  • maybe some illustrations for my next book
  • queries
  • travel plans
  • library runs
  • gym runs
  • or just running in place?
  • clearing out more clutter
  • clearing out the basement
  • thank you's to well...you'll find out
  • and marketing
well...

i guess that explains the block ;)

Happy Weekend, lovely friends!

bamboozled.

Hello.
You've been bamboozled.
Rick Rolled.

Whatever that means.

But that is how I feel.

Yes. I am super-list girl. I can organize ANYTHING.

Anything: the mundane like, breakfast, lunch and dinner. (not that food is a mundane thing to ME...I am a foodie, after all!)

Wardrobes, travel plans, appointments, assignments...I've been around and SO in the NOT so sexy way. LOL

I've planned my wedding, showers for friends, parties, homes. I've even redecorated a few out of dire necessity and have photographic proof.

But today (though yes, I did have a lot going on) I feel as if I CAN'T ORGANIZE MY OWN THOUGHTS!

i mean, seriously. what's going on? i've made list after list. i have a huge idea of what i need and have to do.
i can't bring myself to do anything more than what i need to do (like the dishes. the floors. the bathroom. golly.)

in my 30 years, i have learned that there are things in life that i don't want to live without. like love, hugs, snuggles...family, puppy, LML, friends...and a dishwasher. a maid service. a magic wand?

oh...various publishers.

really, there's enough for another list.

so as i sit here researching for my next few books/stories/novels, i wonder...

do other creatives/writers get into this mood?

and don't lie to me. i hate that. :)

going the extra mile

i have been in meetings and appointments all week.
it's looking like my schedule won't slow down for quite a while,
but i am exhausted and happy.

there is so much that i have to do,
before celebrating events with my friends-
and before planning so many more events
that it's really just exhausting to think about.

on a happy note-
this weather has been amazing, and has been keeping me out and about.
have you guys done anything out of the ordinary or interesting?

oh yeah--
i have! i have! lol...

and of course, it involves food--
and, of course-
there are no pictures...
because we "eated it".

we went to a place on my bucket list of restaurants-
called waterzooi.

i was so excited--
so LML and I get there with some friends, get seated immediately...
and probably scared our poor waitress with the amount of food and drinks we ordered--
and honestly, we did go overboard but it was worth it.

what do i describe as overboard?
well, we were all getting a little warm- it was warm in there until we believe they turned on the air
(probably because of us heathen)
and before that half of us took turns going outside
to get air...

so we've decided...
we love you waterzooi-
but next time, we're just enjoying your incredible beer selections!!

love love love

so keep dreaming,
and i'll see you around, bloggie friends...
probably at a coffee shop,
with a notebook, and my medusa- like hair sans snakes.

excitement.

(me, finding inspiration in the strangest places)

there are so many exciting events underway.
i have thrown myself back into writing and organizing
with my whole heart...

and it seems as if things have fallen back into place
for me.
though i am not totally thrilled as to the complete reason
why i had to do this for my sanity...
maybe that was the push i needed
to regain me. myself and i.

so thank you, to those of you out there,
who have opened some of those doors :)

in the meantime, on the agenda for the rest of the day
is organizing more writing thoughts and ideas...
(oh, and thank you, LML, for helping me print things)

on the menu tonight are veggie burritos (for me)
and meat and veggie burritos (for him)

i am sprucing up some things, and i can't wait to share with you all-
but as is my nature: i will not share unless i have concrete evidence
of fun things.

i am finally back to enjoying life.
gee, thanks for showing up, springtime!!

so, if you have any questions, inquiries, or hey-
you just need me to ghostwrite something?

i am more than happy
to answer, advise and get paid
for my writing and organizational services!

big smiles
lotsa hugs
