What's in my Bag?

when i started my hodgkin's lymphoma "adventure"
my bed was overridden by medications that
i really don't enjoy taking.
isn't chemotherapy bad enough?

so now i'm completely thrilled
that those days are gone, gone gone...
and i figure I can post what's in my bag, finally!

faux fur cavalcanti bag...

pink (of course) coach wallet...
(I can't tell you what's in there. no. sorry!)

my pochacco by sanrio notepad
(every writer needs a notepad in her bag for jotting down to-do list items and last minute book ideas. that, and it's way more shoulder- friendly than my HUGE leather Perry Ellis Portfolio)

lilly pulitzer makeup bag
(love love love)

lipglosses

hand sanitizer from whole foods

hand lotion given to me by my mama
(and highly necessary for this season- my hands get so dry!!)

altoid mini's (necessary, especially after chemo!)

a lucky $1 origami swan
given to me by my bestie!!

note: i have a makeup obsession. i do. but i refuse to wear much of anything until after chemo's over and my eyebrows and eyelashes grow back.

not that they fell off completely, but thinking about that whole ordeal had been one of the worst parts
 of this experience for me.

so, on to bigger and better!

what's in your bag??

love me,
the globetrotting gamine

also, note: this bag's contents are day to day and have nothing to do with travel, events, or hospital runs. though those will be posted soon.

i'm just very happy about my little savings venture.

this is not including various gift certificates for events and LML's birthday which would make this post very long.

do you journal?

happy tuesday to all!
wanted to share with you an entry from a 2002 journal of mine. I thought it was funny enough, since my life has done a complete turn around- and i know a lot of you can relate to me, then!

so here goes:
9.17.02, 11:31am

Ever wanna get everything organized, but got too lazy to even try? that's how i feel right now. i'm in between 3 books, homework, school and work. i have to drop off my laundry today, be in school early (which i totally forgot about) and i have a million things to do before the party on Friday! Blah!

I hardly have time to even write here!

Yesterday, I started Christmas shopping, which is good. If i get that done early i have less things to worry about.

I need to shop.
I need to do homework.
Need to read and go to Macy's [preferably tomorrow]

I'm on a lipgloss kick that won't ened. I think I've become a fanatic. i have to start using them more. Oh, I also have to figure out a gym schedule and what I'm wearing on Friday.

But how many hours are there in one tiny day?

I need money, vacation, everything! Sigh. Oh well.

Back to trying to get organized...cuz my hand hurts.

Me!

Ah, the me of yesteryear!
(me with friend's baby. circa 2002)

love me,

Ok- I'm a makeup addict

I am. The funny part is that I can't put eyeliner on- but if i COULD, I'd be a makeup artist or I'd have much brighter eyes in photos...

the makeup I purchased months ago is about to run out! Ahhhh...and though I am still sick at home, as per my wonderful LML's orders...it doesn't hurt to think about what I need to buy, right?

that's why I *need* your help. What kind of makeup works best for you- stays on, doesn't smell funny, would you run and go buy again? Everyone who knows me knows that usually all that remains of makeup that I own is a squeeze or scrap of lipgloss/stick. This usually lasts me until an emergency or I lose it (all the time, not making it up)

What I need? gloss, eyeshadow, bronzer or blush (?), moisturizer, brightener?
OOh also, hair stuff- anything for strange, curly haired folk that doesn't have too many chemicals??

I have my usual favorites in mind, but your opinions would help me out more :)

Much Love,
MG

Frugal Makeup Fun

Ever have those mornings where you don't know where to begin with what's going on? Where, almost accidentally do you go to pour your creamer into a candle, and not your coffee mug right next to it? Where you start writing down appointments in your agenda book- in the wrong month?
That's the kind of morning I am having.
Yesterday morning, started off pretty much the same way. LML told me to write a letter to a hated company- which I'm sure all you homeowners know about, so I won't name names. He called me later on hysterical laughing.
Me: what's so funny?
LML: are you ok?
Me: eh?
LML: did you re-read the letter that you wrote?
Me: No. It was fly by the seat of my pants, so I didn't.
LML: Good. That's why you sound about ready to rip off someone's face.
Me: Really?
LML: (still laughing) I hate you (hated company name here). All you want is more money, more money! People are in dire needs of jobs in this economy, and you try to screw them any which way you can.
Me: I did NOT write that...
LML: It would've sounded more polite...

Yeesh.
Thus, I was forced on a spa day so that I could relax. OK?! Off to the spa I go. (Manicure: Essy Simple. Pedicure: Pink Parka by Essy)
And while I'm there, I'm thinking that the MAC makeover I wanted was $50 worth of makeup. I love MAC makeup, but do I have the time or the energy to sit in the chair for that long, meanwhile I'm doing nothing tonight?
Nope.
I trek on over to Target. Again. You did see this coming, didn't you? I got all this:

for less than $50. It's the same ingredients. I know for a fact they work, because many a makeup artist that I know use them. Did I do a good thing or a bad thing? Let's just say it seems like more bang for the buck...and it makes me happy :)
