Oh, Montreal!

Even though LML and friends and I saw more of Montreal this year than last year- I still picked up pamphlets of the places I'd like to go. The city is just so fascinating! The following excerpt is from the Marche Bonsecours (350, rue Saint-Paul Est, Old Montreal) pamphlet:

"The Bonsecours Market building, with its breathtaking views of the St. Lawrence River and the Quays of the Old Port, is recognized as one of Canada's 10 most beautiful heritage buildings. This superb edifice was inaugurated in 1847, serving as parliament of the United Canada in 1849, and Montreal's City Hall from 1852 to 1878, followed by a century as the city's main public market. For the past ten years, the fully restored building has housed boutiques featuring Quebec designers' and artisans' wares, cafe-restaurants with patio dining, and several splendid reception halls available for rental for public or private events."

Check the rest out at this site. Hope you like it and you get to visit!

Love,
MG
